It is with heartfelt sadness that we, the family of Irma McKeigan, 100 years, announce the peaceful passing of our Mom, on Monday, February 27, with her family by her side. Mom was born in North Sydney, the daughter of John and Sarah Anderson. She was predeceased by her husband William and infant daughter Debrah.
Mom is survived by four children; Brian (Arlene), Sharise, Sheldon (Manuela), Moira (Hughie); 8 grandchildren, Lynne, Darren, Alan, Kelly, Devin, Kyra, Keshia, Chelsea; 7 great-grandchildren, Tristan, Taylor, Calum, Kayden, Keigan, Ceilidh, Hunter; 1 great great-grandchild, Aura; also, brother in law Carl McKeigan. Mom was predeceased by grandchildren Shawn and Gavyn.
Mom is survived by good friends Harry and Alaine Taylor who are like family to us all; that is why Mom and Dad "adopted" you. Thank you for all that you do. Thank you also to Jim and Shelly MacDonald. Mom loved your good food. Mom was a member of St. Matthew Wesley United Church.
Mom and Dad travelled and trailered extensively. "They are now camping together". They also enjoyed modern Square Dancing. They truly loved their family and our many family gatherings. Mom was a talented oil painter, knitter and seamstress. Her fur baby Molly will miss her hugs.
Thank you to the kind and compassionate "angels" of the Northside Homemakers (Homecare), who helped Mom in every way possible. She loved you all. Thank you to the VON for all your care and concern. Thank you also to the Nursing Staff on the 2nd floor of the Northside General for your care. Donations may be made to a charity of your choice. Mom was a kind and beautiful person who lived a full and happy life. A Celebration of her Life will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the care and direction of W.J.
