Jo Anne Ronayne
Sydney Mines, NS
It is with profound sadness we announce the passing of Jo Anne Ronayne, age 68, on Tuesday, September 6, 2022. Jo Anne passed with her loving children by her side. She fought to spend time with us and to watch her grandchildren grow. She didn’t want to let go. We wish that so much of her life had not been lost to illness and suffering, that things could have been different for her and for us. Mom, we were not prepared to let you go. There was so much that we hoped we could do. We understand that you had to go. It’s your time to rest. All your pain, fear and suffering is over.
Jo Anne was born in North Sydney on December 21, 1953, the daughter of the late Joseph and Adele (Nooley/Pero) Ronayne. Jo Anne loved her family. Her children and grandchildren were everything to her. She extended the love she felt for her own to every child she encountered. She treated everyone as if they were family and touched so many lives. Jo Anne had a great love for animals.
Jo Anne is survived by her son David; daughters Krissy (Rogary), Heather (Kerol), Laurie (Shane); special niece and nephew Joey and Tracy Green, as well as Greg Currie, who were all raised as if they were her own children; brothers Billy and David; grandchildren Rylan, Maddie, Alexandria, Morgan and Macie; nieces and nephews; sisters-in-law Martina and Elizabeth. Jo Anne is also survived by long-time companion William “Poppy Pickle” Collins.
In addition to her parents Jo Anne was also predeceased by her brother Joseph and her sister Sharon Green.
There will be a visitation for Jo Anne from 2–4 pm on Monday, September 12, at W.J. Dooley Funeral Home, 107 Pleasant Street, North Sydney.
