It is with profound sadness that we announce Mom’s peaceful passing at home surrounded by family, on Thursday July 10, 2025, at age 82. Cherished wife of Norman and loving mother of Tamara (Kevin) Creaser and Carla (Clarence) Warren. She will be dearly missed by her grandchildren Connor, Cameron, Aidan and Mallory.
Mom is predeceased by her parents Albert and Kathleen Davis, sisters Barbara, Nan, and Norma, brother Curtis, in-laws Carl and Alice Connors, and brother-in-law Carl. She is survived by her sister Brenda, Ontario, brother-in-law Eric, her sister-in-law Marlene and by many nieces and nephews.
Mom grew up in Sydney Mines and then headed to Truro to complete her dream of becoming a teacher. She returned to North Sydney to raise her family and continue her career. Mom has left a lasting impression on so many students over the years, as well as her loving family.
Mom treasured her time when she and Dad lived in Ross Ferry. Mom loved the peacefulness of the country, the stillness and silence it offered. As our family grew, mom cherished family summer vacations spent together in Neils Harbour. She loved music, dancing, and Mom always reminisced of past dances with Dad. Mom also loved outings and gatherings with friends, church suppers, bridge or cards, time volunteering at the food bank, participating in the garden club, scrap booking as a way of preserving her treasured family memories, and maintaining a well-manicured yard. In her final years, she especially enjoyed her daily drives with Dad, always including a stop at Tim Hortons for a hot chocolate and a treat.
Among many things, Mom will be remembered for her loyalty to her family, kindness, strength, and her courage to speak her mind.
A funeral mass will be held on Thursday, July 31, 2025, at 11:00 am at St. Joseph’s Church in North Sydney. A reception will follow the mass. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to Talbot House, the North Sydney Food Bank, or a charity of your choice. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the care of W.J. Dooley Funeral Home, 107 Pleasant Street, North Sydney. Online condolences may be sent to the family by leaving a message on the tribute wall of the obituary at www.wjdooley.com.
It’s Me
By Kelly Roper
When the sun breaks through the clouds
And a warm beam shines down upon your face,
It’s me reaching out from Heaven to touch your cheeks
And whisper, “I’m alright.”
When a gentle breeze finds you and
Refreshes your mind and body,
It’s me caressing you and reminding you,
“You’re alright too.”
