It is with great sadness we announce the peaceful passing of our father, grandfather and great-grandfather, Jobe Williams, age 93 on Wednesday, August 25, 2021, at the Northside Community Guest Home.
Born in Port Aux Port, Nfld., on October 17, 1927 and raised in Pools Cove, he was the son of the late George and Sarah (Matthews) Williams. Jobe was a longtime, loyal and dedicated member of the North Sydney Fire Department. He was also a special constable with the North Sydney Police Department. In his early years Jobe grew up Dory fishing, worked at Leonard & H.B. Nickerson Fish Plants in North Sydney and sailed on various vessels. Jobe retired from Marine Atlantic where he worked as a stevedore in his later years.
Jobe is survived by his four sons, Jobe Jr. (Leona), John (Diane), Dave (Holly) and Ron (Wendy), his seven grandchildren Kenny, Barbara, Davey, Jason, Jonathan, Jeremy and Ron Jr., several great-grandchildren and a special niece Phyllis Reid.
