It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of John Roderick MacLean, age 77, on Thursday December 14, 2023 at the Northside General Hospital.

Born in North Sydney, March 14, 1946, John was the son of the late Archibald and Isabel (MacDonald) MacLean. Besides his parents he was predeceased by his brothers William and Donald MacLean.

John is survived by his siblings Doug (Leah) MacLean, Calgary AB, David MacLean, Wentworth NS, and Margaret Ann (Joseph) MacDonald, Antigonish NS; sisters-in-law Patsy MacLean, Antigonish NS, and Maureen Coady, Antigonish, NS.

John worked for a number of years with Marine Atlantic aboard the vessels. He was a member of St. Joseph Parish, North Sydney, where he was also a member of the Knights of Columbus. John was a kind person who was often seen within the community. He will be missed by those who knew him and met him over the years.
