It is with profound sadness that we, the family of Joseph Enos Sampson, age 76, announce his passing on Monday, August 8, 2022 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital.
Born in Bras d’Or on January 29, 1946, Enos was the son of the late Thomas Enos and Jane (Conway) Sampson. Enos was employed for many years as a stationary engineer at the Heavy Water Plant in Glace Bay and the Manulife Financial building in the city of Toronto until returning to Cape Breton after retirement. He was a member of St. Joseph church, Bras d’Or.
He was a loving husband to his wife Bernadette (Hennessey) and a devoted father to his sons Jeffrey, Ryan, Cory and his daughter Kayla. He has an amazing love for his six grandchildren Jahleah, Dahvid, Arielle, Liam, Casey and Flora. He will be missed by his faithful companion Riley.
Enos is also survived by his brother Arthur (Judy), sister Olive (John) Fraser and sister Carolyn (Keith) Voutier, also many nieces, nephews and friends.
Besides his parents, Enos was predeceased by his sisters Lorraine, Patricia, Doreen and brother Ambrose. He will be deeply missed by everyone who knew and loved him.
The family wishes to send special thanks to the doctors and staff of the Palliative Care team at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital.
There will be no visitation. A funeral mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday at St. Joseph Church, Bras d’Or with Rev. Nonso Alaribe officiating under the care and direction of W.J. Dooley Funeral Home, 107 Pleasant Street, North Sydney. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Parish Cemetery, Bras d’Or. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society.
