It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, Kathleen Nicole “Nikki” Serroul, age 51, on Thursday December 18, 2025.
Born in Sydney Mines, November 30, 1974, Nikki was the daughter of the late Joseph Louis Serroul and Margaret Ann (Forrest) Taylor. She was a caregiver to a number of people and worked as a clerk in various locations. Although having struggles throughout her life she was willing to help other people in any way she could. Nikki had a big heart and would often help in fund raising for many people in need. She always said to her children ‘same sun, same moon, so we are not that far apart’.
Surviving are her children; Candace Serroul (Jeremy), Bradley Serroul (Bonnie Jean), Chloe Serroul (Ethan), Logan Serroul (Olivia), Greyson Serroul, brother; Joey Serroul, grandchildren; Emma, Zoey, Ethan, Owen, Bradley, Colby, Liam, Peyton, Autumn, Olivia and Sophie, nephews; Michael and Jamie, nieces; Sarah, Sophie, Star and Reagan. Also surviving her best friends Melissa, who was a second mom to her children and Tracey Whyte, stepfather Paul Taylor.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by a brother Burgess Penny.
A visitation for Nikki will be held from 1-3 p.m. on Friday, December 26, 2025 in the W.J. Dooley Home, 107 Pleasant Street, North Sydney. A funeral service will follow at 3 p.m. with Deacon Dave Lewis officiating. Kathleen will be buried in Holy Cross Cemetery in North Sydney at a later date.
