Clifford “Kippy” Barron
North Sydney
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Clifford “Kippy” Barron, age 77, a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle, on April 14, 2023 at the Northside General Hospital.
Born in Ingonish on May 23, 1945, Kippy was the son of the late Cornelius “Nick” and Jean (Robinson) Barron. Kippy was a plumber by trade, a member of Union Local 682, and worked for a variety of companies over the years. He was a true family man – a giver and provider to his wife and two children for whom he made countless sacrifices and proudly supported throughout his life. Kippy was an avid sports fan – he loved watching just about every sport, especially golf and his beloved Toronto Maple Leafs and Blue Jays, and was even a dedicated coach of the Gannon Rd. baseball teams - The Aces and The Saints. He was a kind and friendly man, and was known for his dry, witty sense of humour.
Kippy is survived by his loving wife, Joan (Confiant); his children – Brian (Wanda) and Brandey (Callista) his grandchildren – Mariah, Logan, Nick, and Briana; his siblings – Steve (Dena), Vangie (Bill) Leger, Paula (Linden) Terry and Tim (Linda), along with many nieces, nephews, relatives, and in-laws.
Besides his parents, Kippy was predeceased by his siblings, John and Robin, as well as his grandson, Brian Barron Jr.
The family would like to thank Dr. Eugene Ignacio, Dr. John Ritter, as well as his palliative care team and Homecare for their dedicated care of Dad. They would also like to thank the wonderful nurses and staff of 4 West - Your care and concern with Dad will never be forgotten.
