With sadness, we the family, announce the passing of Larry Wayne Buck, age 75, loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend, on Monday, June 12, 2023 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital.
Born in Toronto, Ontario on March 22, 1948, he was the son of the late Frank and Evelyn (Marshall) Buck. After many years living in Fort McMurray, where he had a number of successful business ventures, he moved to Cape Breton with his family and owned and operated the Maritime Merchant for a number of years. In his retirement, his passions were time spent with his family, his love of gardening and working on his property and woodworking, where his bright colored chairs and birdhouses can be found all over the island.
Larry is survived by his loving wife Donna (Hollett), sons Michael (Kimberly), Andrew (Natasha), Dan (Sara), Steven (Lindsay) and Thomas (Michelle). Also, fifteen grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Larry is also survived by his brother Allan, the extended Hollett Family and sister-in-law Sue.
Besides his parents Larry was predeceased by his twin sister Linda, brother Ken, brother-in-law Fred Courage, nephew Will Kristman and mother and father-in-law Margaret and Henry Hollett.
A celebration of life for Larry will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the care and direction of W.J. Dooley Funeral Home, 107 Pleasant Street, North Sydney.
