It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mother, grandmother and great grandmother, Lena Vivian Slade, age 90, on Saturday December 16, 2023 at Taigh Solas in the Northside General Hospital.

Born in North Sydney, April 11, 1933, Lena was the daughter of the late Manassah and Barbara (Farrell) Anderson. Lena was a stay at home Mom, she enjoyed caring for her pets, collecting antiques and loved to travel with her husband Ernie to the United States in their motor home.

Lena is survived by her children; Nina, Leanne and Lorne (Margaret) Slade, grandchildren; Carla, Amanda, Shannon, Victoria and Nicholas, great grandchildren Mason, Emily, Ben, Jake, Grayson and Anders.

Besides her parents Lena was predeceased by her husband Ernie Slade, her son Shawn and daughter-in-law Rosemary, also her brother Elliott Anderson.

The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of Taigh Solas for the care and compassion shown to Lena during her stay there.
