It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Leroy Pyke, age 78, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend on Tuesday, January 4, 2022 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital.

Born in North Sydney on September 23, 1943, Leroy was the son of the late Henry and Christine (Hepditch) Pyke.  Leroy was a longtime salesman and franchise owner of Sears Canada in North Sydney.  He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing.  He loved taking road trips with his wife Lily travelling to visit with family.  Most of all he enjoyed spending time with family and always lending a helping hand to others.

He is survived by his loving wife Lily (Burton), his three daughters Jennifer (Brian) MacEachern, Coxheath, Heather (Stanley) Pyke-Guy, Aberdeen, Lynn Tucknies (Tim Pors), Mission, BC; his six grandchildren Danny, Connor, Kiley, Jema, Carbon and Leala; his brothers Milton, Austin, Henry (Carol), Harvey (Marian); his sisters Millie (Cecil) Moore, Gertie (Ritchie) Aylward, Polly (Ron) Hosking, sisters-in-law Edna Pyke, Ruth Slade, brother-in-law Bill Summerton, many nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents Leroy was predeceased by his brothers Frank, Ray and Leslie, sisters Shirley (Don) Pentecost and Ena Maria Summerton.

A private visitation and funeral service will be held for Leroy in the SeventhDay Adventist Church, 31 Peppett Street, North Sydney with Pastor Franz Unger officiating.  Burial will take place at Lakeside Cemetery, North Sydney at a later date.
