Lillian MacDonald

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mother, grandmother, sister and aunt, Lillian MacDonald age 88, on Friday February 19, 2021 at the Harbourstone Enhanced Care, Sydney.
Born in Alder Point on June 9, 1932, Lillian was the daughter of the late David and Gladys (Gracie) LeBlanc. She was a longtime former member of Our Lady of Sorrows Church and presently a member of St. Joseph Church, North Sydney. She enjoyed spending summer months at the cottage in Aberdeen, fishing, knitting and camping.
Lillian is survived by her daughter Veronica (Bob) Howatson, North Sydney, sons Lawrence (Maudeen) MacDonald, Sydney Mines, Gerard (Colleen) MacDonald, Millville, her six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; her sisters Loretta (Joe) Reashor, Bras d’Or, Greta Gardner, Baddeck, Gloria (Sheldon) Whyte, New Victoria, nieces and nephews.
Lillian was predeceased by her husband Arthur Francis MacDonald in 2019, her brother Cameron LeBlanc, sister-in-law Phyllis.
Visitation for Lillian will be held 2-4 p.m. Wednesday in the W.J. Dooley Funeral Home, 107 Pleasant Street, North Sydney. A funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Joseph Church with Rev Doug MacDonald officiating. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, North Sydney at a later date.
