We are heartbroken to say goodbye to our beloved Logan, the girl who turned every room into a stage, and every heart she touched into a safer, happier place.
Born to Sandy Russell and Maureen MacTaggart, Logan arrived in 1993 with a soundtrack already in her head - Christina Aguilera and Madonna on repeat. In a big, rowdy family she claimed center stage from day one, holding her own among siblings and cousins who adored her. Music was her first love (choir, band, Christmas concert solos), but dance was her heartbeat. D&R Dance School was her true home; she grew up there surrounded by friends who became family, later returning as the teacher who could make any nervous kid feel like a star. Watching Logan dance was pure joy, she made everyone feel they belonged on the floor. Logan loved animals, movie-theatre popcorn with extra butter, Food Network marathons, and finding the best grocery deals in town. She loved baking cinnamon rolls with her dad and eating her mom’s turkey dinners. Most of all, she loved people - fully, and without hesitation. Her empathy was a rare gift, her generosity endless, her loyalty unbreakable. To know Logan was to be seen and loved exactly as you were.
Logan is forever loved and missed every single day by her parents Sandy Russell and Maureen MacTaggart; stepdad Bernie Lake; her sisters Hannah and Tara; her brother David; her sisters Laurie ( Shane MacLeod), Heather (Kerol Edwards), Krissy; her cherished nieces and nephews Isaac, Toryn, Hugo, Phoebe, Rylan, Maddie, Alexandria, Morgan, and Macie; her best friends and chosen sisters Kaitlyn, Autumn, Kianna, Mallory, Kelsey, and Victoria; and a constellation of friends who will carry her light always.
Logan was predeceased by her maternal grandparents Frances and Dontey MacTaggart, her paternal grandmother Muriel Brideau, and uncles, Dave Russell (who Logan always held a special place in her heart for), Jim Russell, Allister Russell, Ross (Rob) Russell, Gerard MacTaggart and cousin James MacTaggart.
Visitation for Logan will be held from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm, Wednesday, December 3, 2025, at the W.J. Dooley Funeral Home, 107 Pleasant Street, North Sydney. Donations in Logan’s memory can be made to either Hope for Wildlife or Rocking Horse ranch. Online condolences can be left for the family on the tribute page of the obituary.
