Lorne Douglas Oake Obituary

It is with heartfelt sadness we announce the passing of Lorne Douglas Oake, age 73, on Saturday, September 6, 2025 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital.

Born in Sydney on February 27, 1952, Lorne was the son of the late Raymond and Elizabeth (Simmonds) Oake.  Lorne was a labourer who had many jobs throughout his life, he was a jack-of-all-trades who could put his hand to anything.  He loved country music, a cold Keith’s, and especially his family and spending time with them.

He is survived by his partner Darlene Finney, his stepson Tyler (Rhea), his grand-daughter Morley, his brothers Ray (Marie), Blair (Rose), David (Denise), brother-in-law Warren (Lynne) Morley.  Also surviving are his nieces and nephews Blair Jr., Natalie, Christopher, Adam, Cailin, Bailey and Dylan.

There will be no public service at this time. Online condolences may be sent to the family by leaving a message on the tribute wall of the obituary.
