It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Lorraine Gertrude Lees, age 85 on Sunday December 6, 2020 at the Northside General Hospital.

Born in North Sydney on February 5, 1935, Lorraine was the daughter of the late Frederick and Grace (Wheeler) Reid. She taught school for many years in various schools on the Northside and was a member of the Retired Teachers Association.  Lorraine was a member of St. Matthew Wesley United Church and active with the U.C.W. for many years.

Lorraine was the last surviving member of her immediate family.  She is survived by a number of nieces and nephews, cousins, family and friends. 

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband William Lees, her brothers Cyril, Gordon, Stanley, Donald and Roy, two sisters Pauline and Marguerite.

There will be no visitation by request.  A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 25, 2021 at Lakeside Cemetery, North Sydney with Marjorie Serafinus officiating.  Arrangements are under the care and direction of W.J. Dooley Funeral Home, 107 Pleasant Street, North Sydney.
