Lydia Georgina Ings

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Lydia Georgina Ings, age 79, on Friday, July 14, 2023 at the Northside Community Guest Home.
Born in North Sydney, on March 3, 1944, Lydia was the daughter of the late Ernest and Edna (Barnes) Ings. Lydia worked most her life in administration at Maritime Command, Royal Canadian Navy in Halifax. She also enjoyed knitting and needlepoint. She was an avid viewer of curling. Lydia was a member of St. John the Baptist Anglican Church, North Sydney
Predeceased by her parents Ernest and Edna, Lydia is survived by her brother Ernest (Lorna) Ings, Sydney Mines, niece Cheryl Ings, St. John’s NL and nephew Andrew Ings, Halifax.
The family would like to thank the staff of the Northside Community Guest Home for the care and compassion shown to Lydia.
By request there will be no visitation. A graveside service for Lydia will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 19 at Lakeside Cemetery, North Sydney with Reverend Debbie Fice presiding. Arrangements are under the care and direction of the W.J. Dooley Funeral Home, 107 Pleasant Street, North Sydney.
