With heartfelt sadness we announce the peaceful passing of Margaret “Margie” Andrews, age 81, on Thursday, October 31, 2019 at her home.

Born in Bras d’Or on July 24, 1938, Margie was the daughter of the late Roy and Veronica (Reashore) MacPherson. Margie was employed at the Northside General Hospital as Supervisor of Housekeeping until her retirement in 1993.  She was a faithful member of St. Joseph Church, North Sydney. Margie was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

Margie is survived by her sisters-in-law Sadie MacPherson and Nellie Cox, brother-in-law Jake Meisner, also by several nieces and nephews. 

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Everett Andrews, her sisters Katherine (Richard) Dove, Judy Foster, Marcella (Arnold) MacEachern and Cavelle (Hart) Meisner (Fred Hart), her brothers Andrew (Theresa) and David MacPherson. 

The family would like to thank the VON, Hospice Palliative Care and Dr. Abboud for their compassion and care shown to Margie during her illness. Special thanks to good friend Vince Penney for his love and support, to nieces Margo Aalders for her special care and Brenda Dove for the nightly visits and the special card games.

There will be no visitation by request.  A funeral mass for Margie will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday at St. Joseph Church with Rev. Doug MacDonald officiating.  Burial will follow in Lakeside Cemetery, North Sydney.
