Mark Kenneth Kiley Obituary
It is with the heaviest of hearts that we announce the passing of Mark Kenneth Kiley, on May 3, 2026. He now joins his parents, Doris and Terrance Kiley, in peaceful rest.
Born on March 11, 1971, the first of three children, Mark grew up in Whitney Pier, where he participated in many sports. Talented in soccer, hockey, volleyball, and his favourite – street hockey.
When tasked with babysitting his younger siblings, he never missed a game. His little sister could often be heard cheering loudly from her parked stroller during pick-up games at the bottom of Ferris Street. Under the watchful eye of his beloved grandmother, Florence Slade, Mark was a kind, loving, funny, gentle giant, whose eyes lit up with the mention of his Pittsburgh Penguins, or the results of a local horse race.
Mark is survived by his son Kenneth; grandson James; brother Glenn (Sonia); sister Michelle (Jennifer); girlfriend Crystal; step-children Summer and Mariah; his three nieces, Marissa, Sierra and Maddison; mother-in-law Connie Nicholson; sister-in-law Lindsay Carrigan; extended family, and endless friends and loved ones who were blessed to have him in their lives. He will be dearly missed and kept safely in the hearts of all who loved him.
A funeral service for Mark will be held at 3:00 pm, Monday, May 11, 2026, at the W.J. Dooley Funeral Home Chapel, 107 Pleasant Street, North Sydney, with Patrick O’Neill officiating. In lieu of flowers, a donation in Mark’s honor, can be made to New Start Standardbreds. Online condolences can be left for the family on the tribute wall of the obituary at www.wjdooley.com.
Ali, Joey and John – his lifetime brothers – through every season of life, their bond was unbreakable. Brothers in laughter, loyalty and love – forever and always.
