Mary J. Ivey

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and aunt, Mary Jeanette Ivey, age 77, on Tuesday, March 3, 2020 at the Northside General Hospital.
Born in Toronto, Ontario on June 15, 1942, Mary was the daughter of the late Daniel and Edythe (Hodge) Anderson. Mary loved doing crafts and was an avid reader. She enjoyed many years camping with her family at MacKinnon’s Camp Ground at Lake Ainslie. She was a member of St. Matthew Wesley United Church, North Sydney.
Mary is survived by her husband David, her four children, Edythe Parks-Murrin, Kitchener, Robert (Mary) Ivey, Waterloo, Ontario, David (Ruth Ann) Ivey, North Sydney, Lisa (Darren Fennell), Sydney Mines, her nine grandchildren Kristen, Shannon, David, Blayre, Michael, Rose, Robyn, Paul , Breton and seven great-grandchildren; her brother Peter (Susan) Anderson, Ontario, and sister Joyce Anderson, USA; also surviving are several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, Mary was predeceased by her two brothers Arthur and Russell Anderson.
A sincere thank you to the staff at 4C and the ICU of the Cape Breton Regional Hospital and 2 West at the Northside General Hospital.
Visitation for Mary will be held from 2-4 p.m. on Saturday in the W.J. Dooley Funeral Home, 107 Pleasant Street, North Sydney, followed by a prayer service with Rev. Stephen Mills officiating.
