With deep sadness, we announce the passing of Michael Roderick MacIsaac, aged 91, of North Sydney, on October 7, 2025. Mike passed away peacefully at the Northside Community Guest Home.
Born in Sydney Mines on August 11, 1934, he was predeceased by his parents, John and Margaret MacIsaac. Mike worked for many years with the Canadian National Railway (CNR). A man of quiet strength and deep devotion, he was a faithful member of St. Joseph Church in North Sydney where he served as a Eucharistic Minister and a member of the parish council. He had active involvement with the Kiwanis Club and the Knights of Columbus in North Sydney.
Mike found joy and freedom in the open road, often journeying with his beloved wife Mary on their motorcycle. He was also a proud member of the British Car Club. He also enjoyed having a cup of coffee with his friends at the local coffee shop.
Michael is survived by his three sons: Steve (Maureen), Paul (Angela), and Roger; three grandchildren: Stephanie Alexander (Michael), Joshua, and Christian; and two great-granddaughters: Charlie and Gracie. He is also survived by his sisters, Carol MacKay and Patricia White (George), and his brother John (Mary). He will also be missed by many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his beloved wife Mary (Cleary), and sisters Nancy (O'Quinn) and Germaine (MacDonald).
The family extends gratitude to Mickey Quirk for her unwavering care and compassion throughout Mike’s final years—a true blessing.
