Mary Mora Beth MacLennan, of North Sydney, passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, September 16, 2025.
A graduate of the University of New Brunswick Law School, Mora was a well-known lawyer in the community and surrounding area for many years. She was devoted to providing care and support for her clients during her years of practice. A gentle soul with a profound love for nature and animals, Mora found joy in the beauty of the natural world and dedicated much of her life to the care and well-being of animals.
Mora was predeceased by her parents, C. Hugh MacLennan and Hazel (Hyde) MacLennan; her grandmother, Ada Jane MacLennan, and her brothers, Donald and Clennan (who passed in infancy).
Mora leaves behind her cherished and devoted friend, Pauline Fogarty, as well as her sisters Dorothy (Roddie MacNeil), Elaine (Terry MacNeil), Allison (Barry MacKenzie); her brother, Ian Roy MacLennan; nieces & nephews Sarah, Morgan, Ian and Christina, all of whom will forever hold her memory dear.
Mora’s legacy of kindness and compassion for all living creatures will continue to inspire those who knew her.
In keeping with Mora’s wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral service. Arrangements are under the care and direction of W.J. Dooley Funeral Home, 107 Pleasant Street, North Sydney. Condolences may be left for the family by writing on the tribute wall of the obituary page. In lieu of flowers, and in honor of Mora’s deep love for animals, donations may be made to the SPCA or a charity of one’s choice.
