It is with sadness we announce the passing of Olive Marie Lantz, age 89, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and aunt on Sunday, April 23, 2023 at the Northside General Hospital.
Born in Baddeck on June 7, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Katheryn (MacLeod) Redmond. For many years Olive worked in the family business Lantz Electronics until her retirement.
She is survived by her son Kim and daughter-in-law Faith (Carey), her four granddaughters and ten great-grandchildren, her sister Patricia, Arlington, MA, USA and a number of nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, Olive was predeceased by her husband Lloyd Charles Lantz and by four siblings.
Many thanks to Dr. Eugene Ignacio, Dr. Ritter and the nursing staff on 4 west, Northside General Hospital for their wonderful care.
There will be no visitation or funeral by request. A burial will take place at a later date. Arrangements are under the care and direction of W.J. Dooley Funeral Home, 107 Pleasant Street, North Sydney. Memorial donations may be sent to Hospice Cape Breton.
