Thelma “Pat” Probert

It is with sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our dear wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend, Pat Probert on Wednesday September 11, 2019, at MacGillivray Guest Home, Sydney, surrounded by her loving family.
Born October, 5, 1932 in Luton, England, she was the daughter of the late Frederick and Sarah (Williams) Cooper.
Pat grew up in England and emigrated to Canada in 1955.
Pat married Bill Probert in 1970 and lived in Toronto for several years. She worked as security personnel for Eatons Store and Maple Leaf Gardens and later a customer service representative in several Pet stores, before retiring back to North Sydney, where she remained until becoming a resident of MacGillivray Guest Home.
She is survived by her husband William Probert, a daughter Cindy (Gilbert) Rose, Yarmouth; her three grandchildren, Dwayne, April, Mae; eleven great grandchildren and one great great grandchild; a sister Cynthia Ransome; nephew, David Ransome, niece, Sue Ransome; sister-in-law Laura Smith, North Sydney and niece Louise Smith of Sydney Mines.
She was predeceased by her first husband, Edward Wilson and her son Terry Wilson.
There will be no visitation by request. A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, at W.J. Dooley Funeral Home chapel, 107 Pleasant St., North Sydney with Rev. Norma Mills officiating. Burial will follow in Lakeside Cemetery, North Sydney.
Memorial donations may be made to the SPCA or the Canadian Cancer Society.
