Patricia Marie Lewis
Balls Creek, NS
It is with immense sadness that we, the family of Patricia Marie (Keigan) Lewis, announce her peaceful passing at the age of 77, on Thursday, December 1, 2022, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital. Heaven has gained an angel and a piece of our hearts. Patsy was born in Sydney on March 2, 1945, and was the daughter of the late Norman and Lexie (MacKinnon) Keigan.
Mom married her life-time partner Ambrose on April 4, 1964. They had four boys. She loved us unconditionally. Our precious mother devoted her life to her children, husband and family. Anyone who knew them, knew that she was a star in their eyes, and that is all that ever mattered to her.
Patsy enjoyed life, family and many friends. She was always there to brighten the lives of others. We will miss her beautiful heart, infectious smile, her homemade tea biscuits, made with love, while listening to her Daniel O’Donnell CD. Mom was a two-time cancer warrior who faced each and every battle with grace and determination and never missed a BINGO game, a Blue Jays game or a curling match. You were always welcomed to enjoy a cup of tea and a sweet at the kitchen table.
Patsy is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, Ambrose Lewis; sons Kenneth (Korena), Joseph (Carol), Kent (Wendy) and Scott; her cherished six grandchildren; Jonathan, Natasha (Cody), Tyler, Marissa, Stephanie and Brett; great-grandchildren Jensen and Kane who called her “little Nan”. She will be missed by her fur baby, Bingo. Also surviving are her sisters Evelyn (Harvey) Timmons, Elaine MacLeod, Faye (Karron) MacLeod and brother Gregory (Wendy), brother-in-law Harold Delaney, along with several special nieces, nephews and cousins.
Patsy was predeceased by her parents, sister Norma Delaney, father and mother-in-law Ralph and Margaret Lewis, brothers-in-law Donald MacLeod, Billy Graham, Frank Smith, Billy Lewis, Charles Lewis, Wilfred Hart; sisters-in-law Lorraine Lewis and Sylvia Lewis.
A visitation for Patsy will be held from 2–4 and 7–9 pm on Tuesday, December 6th at W.J. Dooley Funeral Home, 107 Pleasant Street, North Sydney. A funeral service will be held at 11 am Wednesday at St. Matthew Wesley United Church, Leitches Creek, with Rev. Stephen Mills officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Breast Cancer Society, Cancer Patient Care Fund or a charity of choice. Online condolences may be sent to the family by visiting the tribute wall of the obituary at www.wjdooley.com.
