It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our mother, Patricia Leyte, age 61, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, on Tuesday, July 4, 2023.

Born in Sydney Mines on August 20, 1961, she was the daughter of the late Sonny and Jessie (nee Norman) Hyde.

Patricia was a kind-hearted person who was loved by all who knew her. She had many friends who she adored. She worked various jobs, the last of which was with her soulmate, her junior high school sweetheart, Danny Leyte.

Patricia is survived by her daughters Danielle (Dale) Bonnar, Dana (Shane MacPhee) Leyte; grandchildren Owen, Timothy and Avery Bonnar; brothers George (Kim), Billy (Rose); sisters Judy (Henry) Dipersio, Lori (Bobby) Ryan; brother-in-law Donnie Leyte; sister-in-law Diane Penney; a number of nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents Patricia was predeceased by her husband, Danny; sister Kathy Astephen and her brothers Donnie and Dougie Hyde. Also, her parents-in-law Percy and Shirley (Richardson) Leyte and her precious fur baby Molly (Jug), who she adored with her heart and soul.

Mom, you will be forever loved and missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing you.
