Patrick Rose

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Patrick Augustine Rose. Patrick peacefully passed away at the Victoria County Memorial Hospital, while residing at Alderwood Guest Home, Baddeck on Saturday, April 12th 2025.

Patrick was predeceased by his parents Maurice and Cecilia (Woodfine) Rose, his sister Ann and her husband David LeBlanc, sister Ellen Jane in infancy, his brothers Bernie, Willie (Janie) and Joe (Pauline), as well as sister-in-law Janie.

He is lovingly remembered by his devoted partner, Marjorie MacNeil. Before his move to Alderwood, Patrick and Marjorie shared many happy years together in Washabuck. Patrick’s memory will also be carried on by his children: Wendy (Robert Lewis), Bonnie (Jeff Cox), and Trevor (Haley MacEachern) Rose, along with his stepdaughter, Jody MacNeil; his cherished grandchildren - Colin, Hayden, Erika, Evan, Robyn, Caleb, Madison, Cameron, Neveah, Emily, Bayleigh, Noah, Jordynn, and Elias. They will all forever hold him in their hearts. Patrick is also survived by his brother Tommy Rose, his sister Cecilia (Brian) McCrann, and numerous nieces and nephews.

In his early years, Paddy was a taxi driver in North Sydney, earning the respect of many through his dependable service and warm demeanor. He later worked tirelessly on pipelines in western Canada with local 92. He showed dedication and strength in all he did.

Paddy’s life was a testament to resilience. His humor, and kindness touched the lives of all who knew him. While his presence will be deeply missed, his legacy of love and memories will remain in the hearts of his loved ones forever.

Cremation has taken place. there will be a graveside service 2 p.m. Wednesday May 14th at  Holy Cross Cemetery in North Sydney, under the care and direction of W.J. Dooley Funeral Home, 107 Pleasant Street, North Sydney. Online condolences can be left for the family by writing on the tribute wall of the obituary page.
