It is with great sorrow and broken hearts, that we the family announce the sudden passing of our beloved son, husband, father, brother, brother-in-law, uncle and friend, Paul Gerard DuPont, on Thursday, October 19, 2023 at the age of 62.  Paul’s passing was so unexpected and a great shock to us all.

Born in North Sydney on February 15, 1961, Paul was the son of Eileen (MacNeil) Dupont and the late Pascal DuPont. Paul was the assistant manager for many years with Magna/Tesma Plant in North Sydney. Later with his millwright expertise he travelled back and forth to Alberta working as a non-destructive technician. A lifetime member of Seaview Golf Club, when he wasn’t working out west, Paul loved to spend his free time on the course with his golf buddies. He enjoyed playing hockey for many years with “Rollies Wharf Rats”. He was a big fan of the Boston Bruins, the Boston Red Sox and the New England Patriots

Paul was a true family man, who enjoyed being around his family and friends. Especially on hot sunny days enjoying a cold Keiths and swimming in their backyard pool after a round of golf.

Paul was always up for a good laugh as tormenting was one of his many expertise. He certainly was the rock of his family as Shelbi and Nolan would always call their dad for his great advice.

Paul and Judy spent 46 wonderful years together. They were best friends, high school sweethearts and certainly perfect soulmates.

Besides his mother Eileen, Paul is survived by his wife of 34 years, Judy (Greene), his daughter Shelbi and son Nolan (Allie). Paul was so proud of Shelbi and Nolan and the accomplishments in their lives they had achieved.  Also surviving are his siblings, Pascal (Terri), Elizabeth (Kevin) Blinkhorn, Greg (Heather), Wayne (Freda); sisters-in-law Debbie (Ernie) Sheaves, Gail (Timmy) Hickey, Kim (Paul) DiPersio, brother-in-law Fred (Glenda), his father and mother-in-law Ronald and Lorraine Greene, along with many nieces, nephews and cousins. He also leaves behind his best friend and buddy Cooper, whom he enjoyed his walks with every day. Until we meet again my love, I will always cherish our time together!

He was predeceased by his father Pascal DuPont.

Cremation has taken place. A celebration of life for Paul will be held 4 p.m. Wednesday, October 25th , at the Seaview Golf Club. Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of W.J. Dooley Funeral Home, 107 Pleasant Street, North Sydney.
