Paul Hiscock
North Sydney
It is with heartfelt sadness that we announce the passing of Paul Joseph Hiscock, aged 75, on Tuesday, April 12, 2022, at the Northside General Hospital, with his loving family at his side.
Born in North Sydney, Paul was the only son of the late Claude and Mae (Buchanan) Hiscock. Paul had a career with Marine Atlantic that spanned over forty years. He was also a volunteer fire-fighter, serving with the Northside Fire Department for twenty-eight years, even taking on the important role of Santa Claus in the annual Christmas Parades through town. He was an avid fisherman, hunter, and general outdoorsman. He loved getting together for coffee with his Tim Horton’s Buddies. Most of all he loved spending time with his grandchildren and his many animal friends.
Paul is survived by his loving wife, Ellen (Cordy) Hiscock; his four children: Darren (Barbara), Geoff (Lesli), Gena (Jamie) Devoe, and Cheril (Terry) Jessome; his six grandchildren: Evan, Connor, Samantha, Travis (Hannah), Brooklyn, Maranda, along with his two great-grandchildren, Everett and Scarlett. Special mention as well to Suzanne (Tony) for everything you’ve been to him.
The family would like to especially thank all the nursing staff of 5 East of the Northside General Hospital.
A public visitation for Paul will be held from 1-3 p.m. Saturday, followed by a celebration of life service at 3 p.m. in the W.J. Dooley Funeral Home Chapel, 107 Pleasant Street, North Sydney with Deacon Roy Smith officiating. Online condolences can be left for the family by posting on the tribute wall of the obituary page for Paul at www.wjdooley.com.
