We are saddened to announce the passing of Peter Liam McKeough age 65 on Wednesday December 22, 2021 at the Royal Inland Hospital in Kamloops BC.

Born in North Sydney, February 29, 1956, Peter was the son of the late Dr. Liam and Jean (Purdy) McKeough. For a period of time, he served as a member of the Canadian Armed Forces.  After his discharge he attended nursing school at St. Martha’s Hospital School of Nursing in Antigonish.  He travelled to the north spending time nursing in the Northwest Territories and Nunavut. He worked at Cape Breton Regional Hospital in the Coronary Care Unit and Intensive Care Unit for a few years.

Peter is survived by a son Jeff Donovan, daughter Rachel Veinott, sisters Ellen and Maura McKeough, brother Bill (Joan) McKeough, sister-in-law Sue McKeough also by a number of nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, Peter was predeceased by brothers Philip McKeough and Dave (Donna) McKeough.

Cremation has taken place. A private family service will be held at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to the W.J. Dooley Funeral Home, 107 Pleasant Street, North Sydney. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.wjdooley.com.
