It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Phyllis Georgina Clifford on Thursday, July 4, 2024, at Glenhaven Manor in New Glasgow at the age of 89. Born in Alder Point on August 25, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Phillip and Martha (Forrest) Payne.

Phyllis is survived by her children – Lorne LeBlanc (Betty Stevens), Lawrence (Jennifer) LeBlanc, Margaret (Eugene) Konior, and Aulden LeBlanc, along with many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Phyllis was predeceased by her first and second husbands – Lawrence Roscoe LeBlanc and Ross Edward Clifford; children – Mary Walsh, Georgina McNeil, Elizabeth Giroud, and Stella Anderson; sisters - Frances McLean and Stella Crawford as well as her brother George Payne.  

Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of W.J. Dooley Funeral Home, 107 Pleasant Street, North Sydney.  A graveside service will take place on August 25th at Trinity Anglican Cemetery on Shore Road in Sydney Mines.
