Ralph Kelly Taylor
Long Island, NS
It is with immeasurable sadness and deep regret that we, the family of Ralph Kelly Taylor, announce his untimely passing on Thursday, August 4, 2022, at the age of 48. Born in Scarborough, Ontario on January 25, 1974, Ralphie was the son of Verva (Johnston) Taylor and the late Ralph Taylor.
He is survived by his loving wife Stacey Trott, her son Tom (Bethany) and their beautiful son Taika. Ralph is also survived by his mother Verva Taylor, his sisters Maxine (Freddy), Alice and brother Eddie. Also left to mourn are his mother-in-law Sheila, father-in-law Lynn and sister-in-law Annelise.
Ralphie adored his niece and nephews. They were all lucky enough to have a sweet and special relationship with him; Jessica (Ryan), Logan (Marissa), Tyler (Beth), Cody, Hunter, Evan (Kelsea), and Logan Trott. Nothing made Ralphie shine brighter than his grand-nephew and niece Ezra and Briar. He always got down to their level, or maybe they got down to his. They both loved to come and play with Uncle Ralsee. He was helpless to say no to either of them, no matter how silly or whimsical their request might have been. It was hard to tell who was having more fun, “Ralsee” or the kids.
Ralphie was an extremely hard worker and was currently employed as a lobster fisherman with Jody Forrest. He also long lined with Gerrow and Son, something he loved doing. He and the crew had a very strong bond: Jason, Logan, Corey, Evan and Matt, I know Ralphie’s protective spirit will be watching over you on and off the boat.
Ralphie was without a doubt the smartest and funniest, quirkiest, silliest guy we knew. He had such a kind and gentle soul and did whatever he could to help out family and friends. His love of music was only eclipsed by his love of sports. There wasn’t a stat, score or play that he couldn’t tell you about. He was a huge Toronto Maple Leaf’s fan (one more reason to love him so much). Ralphie always had a smile on his face and a joke on his lips. His loss will be profoundly felt, especially by his most loyal friend and sidekick Oliver, his beloved fur baby. Oliver is surely going to miss the long walks with his bestest buddy.
Ralphie had three loves of his life, Stacey, Oliver and Coors Lite. Not necessarily in that order. Maybe from heaven Ralphie will finally see how special he was and how much he was loved by so many. Surely Ralphie, between you and Dad, there must be something you can do to get the Leaf’s to the second round.
If you want to do something to honor Ralphie’s memory, play with a child, give your dog an extra-long ear rub or drink a beer.
There will be a visitation for Ralph from 10:00 – 11:00 am, Monday, September 5, 2022 at W.J. Dooley Funeral Home, 107 Pleasant Street, North Sydney. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 am in the funeral home chapel with Marjorie Serafinus officiating. Online condolences may be sent to the family by leaving a message on the tribute wall of the obituary at www.wjdooley.com.
Rest in peace Ralphie. You are loved and missed by all who knew you.
