Regina Jobe Obituary

Regina Agnes (Hervé) Jobe

North Sydney

Little we knew that day, God was going to call your name. In life we loved you dearly, in death we do the same.

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt, Regina Agnes Jobe, age 91, on Thursday, August 26, 2021 at Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney, after a brief illness. Born in Florence, January 19, 1930, Regina was the daughter of the late Alexis & Agnes (MacInnis) Hervé of Pitt Street, Florence.

Regina was a devoted member of St. Joseph’s Church in North Sydney. She worked at many retail locations over the years such as Naddaf’s Ladieswear, Peoples Store, and Fowler’s Ladieswear from which she retired. Regina was a very kind and generous person, not only to her family but to everyone she met. She had a great sense of humor and loved her daily chats with her sisters. She also loved her weekly excursions with her son, getting her hair done and going to lunch. She was soon to be a great grandmother which she was so proudly looking forward.

Regina was survived by her only son Robert (Carolyn) Jobe, of North Sydney. The apple of her eye was her three grandsons, who they lovingly called Mama Jean, Christopher Jobe (Jeana MacLeod), Halifax, Shawn Jobe (Darcie Lewis), Dartmouth, Bryden Jobe (Reghan LeBlanc), Westmount. She was also survived by her siblings Irene (The late Pat) MacMillan, New Waterford, Agnes Reid, Sydney, Marguerite (John) MacNeil, Sydney Mines, sister-in-law Hilda Hervé, Dartmouth, foster sister-in-law Hazel Hart and many nieces and nephews who she thought the world of.

Besides her parents, Regina was predeceased by her husband of 58 years Reggie Jobe, daughter Donna Jobe in 1971 at the age of 9, sisters Eva (Richard) Scott, Freda Devilin, brothers John Alexis “Sonny” Hervé, William “Billy” (The late Marguerite) Hervé, foster brother Wilfred Hart, and a sister and two brothers in infancy. Regina was also predeceased by father and mother-in-law Peter and Margaret (Gillis) Jobe, brother-in-law Donald (Shirley) Jobe, sisters-in-law Margaret (Everett) Capstick and Catherine (Remo) Vallar.

A special thanks to her very special and dear friend Theresa Rideout, Dr. Bill MacDonald, Northside Homemakers, EHS and the doctors and nurses at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital.
