It is with deep regret and sadness that we the family announce the passing of our husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend, Richard Alexander Matthews, age 59, on Sunday November 26, 2023 at his home following a short battle with cancer.

Born in Marion Bridge on June 2, 1964, Richie was the son of the late Hughie Dan and Gladys (Martin) Matthews. He was employed in the forestry industry from an early age, later working in Fort McMurray, Alberta before retiring as a heavy equipment operator.

Richie is survived by his wife of thirty years Kim (Hill) Matthews, his children Daniel, Travis, Alicia (Tim), his grandchildren Konnor, Peyton, Bella and Mateo, sisters Barb (Mike), Karen (J.R.), Cheryl (Brandon), a brother Lester (Noella), also many nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents Richie was predeceased by his brothers Danny and Calvin Matthews, as well as his mother and father-in-law Oretha and Doug Hill.

Cremation has taken place. A burial service will be held at St. John Anglican Church Cemetery, Point Edward at a later date. Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of W.J.
