It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Ruth Kathleen MacKenzie, 77, on Saturday, April 28, 2018 at the Northside General Hospital following a brief illness.

Born May 11, 1940 in Beechmont, she was the daughter of the late Alexander and Annie (Murray) MacKenzie.

Ruth was a longtime employee of Cape Breton Beverages Limited in Sydport, working in the business office until her retirement.

Ruth is survived by her cousin Angus (Eva) Pickering of Beechmont and several other cousins.

Besides her parents she was predeceased by a brother Angus and three sisters, Marion, Sarah and Jean.

There will be no visitation or funeral service by request. A private burial will take place in MacKenzie Cemetery, Beechmont.

Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of the W.J. Dooley Funeral Home, North Sydney.
