Sidney Forrest

It is with heartfelt sadness, we the family, announce the passing of our beloved uncle Sidney Forrest, age 76, on Wednesday, September 24, 2025, at the Northside General Hospital, surrounded by his loving nieces.

Born in Sydney Mines, on August 16, 1949, Sidney was the son of the late George and Mary (MacDonald) Forrest.

Sidney lived a simple life, enjoying walking and chatting with his buddies at the ballast grounds. He was happy as long as he had his Pepsi and treats. Sidney will be missed but never forgotten by family and friends. Eileen will be waiting with arms wide open and ready to torment you.

Besides his parents, Sidney was predeceased by his brothers George, Phally, Angus and James; sisters Libby, Dorothy, Bessy and Catherine.

Sidney is survived by his nieces; special niece Karen Forrest, his caretaker, as well as Monica Ann, Georgina, Rhonda, Michelle and Julie. He is also survived by other nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank the staff at the Northside Community Guest Home for their compassion and care. Thank you is also extended to the medical staff on 4 West at the Northside General Hospital for their care while Sidney was a patient.
