It is with heartfelt sadness we announce the passing of Steven Clarence Walsh, age 72, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and uncle, on Thursday, March 17, 2022 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital.

Born in Northwest Arm on April 26, 1949, he was the son of the late Arthur and Isabella (Harding) Walsh.  He was a sailor all his life and was employed with the Canadian Coast Guard until he had to retire due to illness.  He loved being on the water, fishing lobster, spending time with his friends at the Ballast Grounds and teaching his grandchildren about boats and fishing.

He is survived by his loving wife Anne Marie (Turner) Walsh, North Sydney, his children; Donna Marie (Rocky) Rose, North Sydney; Chasity Walsh-Kelly (Robbie), Little Pond; Shane Walsh (Lisa), North Sydney; Troy (Michelle) Walsh, Sydney Mines; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; his sisters Margaret Bonnar, Sydney Mines, Phyllis Collins, North Sydney, Dorothy (Henry) Leon, Coxheath, as well as nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents Steven was predeceased by his sister Queena McGraw in August 2021.

A graveside service for Steven will be held at a later date under the care and direction of W.J. Dooley Funeral Home, 107 Pleasant Street, North Sydney.
