God called another angel home. It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Theresa A. Brewer, 59, loving sister, aunt, cousin and friend, on Thursday, March 11, 2021, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney.

Born in North Sydney, she was the daughter of the late John and Arthena (McGean) Brewer.

Theresa had been a resident of Victoria Haven in Glace Bay for many years, where she made many friends and was treated like family.

Theresa was loved by all who knew her. Her love was unconditional and she gave the best hugs. Her favourite things to do were heading to Indian Beach with her mom, driving around town to see the lights at Christmas and dropping by Tim Hortons for coffee and donuts.

Theresa had a great memory and could always be counted on to recall past events. She enjoyed watching games shows and Coronation Street, knitting and rug hooking mats as a pastime.

Theresa dearly loved her niece and nephews and looked forward to visits with her cousin Wayne who brought her treats every week.

The family would like to thank the staff of Victoria Haven, as well as the doctors and nurses at CB Regional Hospital Palliative Care unit for the care and compassion shown to Theresa.

Theresa is survived by her two sisters, Nina Brewer, Sydney; Anna Lee Brewer (Kevin Skinner), North Sydney; and her brother William Brewer, Truro. Also surviving are her two nephews, Brett, Brendan and niece Nekole.

Visitation will be 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, in the W.J. Dooley Funeral Home, 107 Pleasant St., North Sydney, where Covid-19 protocol regarding the wearing of masks, social distancing and limited capacity will be followed.  A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, at St. Joseph Church, North Sydney, with Rev. Doug MacDonald officiating. The wearing of masks will be mandatory and seating in the church is limited.  Burial will take place at a later date in Holy Cross Cemetery, North Sydney.
