Born in Anticosti Island, Quebec on May 28, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Vincent and Marie (Autin) Apestiguy. Theresa was a very strong and independent woman. After raising nine children she worked for a time at National Sea Products Fish Plant in North Sydney. Theresa loved her family and spending time at her cottage or camping with them. Christmas time her house was filled with family, love and food. Until her move to Miners Memorial in her later years, Theresa loved walking and her time spent at Tim Hortons. She was a member of St. Joseph Church, North Sydney and the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Theresa will be dearly missed by her children, Brian (Jeanette), Gary (Karen), Linda (Ronnie) Walsh, Wayne (Joanne), Eric (Bernadette), Eileen (Terry) Jesty and Nancy Forrest. Theresa was a grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother and aunt to many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband Raymond in 2000, her two sons Ronnie and Patrick and her grandson Jeffrey, her brothers Gerard, Joe, Paul, Gordie and sisters Evangeline and Madeline.
