It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Thomas Leo Fennell, age 90, on Monday, July 22, 2024, at his home.
Born in North Sydney, April 22, 1934, Tom was the son of the late Frederick and Ellen (Sparrow) Fennell. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. In his earlier years Tom was involved with horses and harness racing, he enjoyed drawing, listening and playing music, storytelling, a good joke and going for long drives.
Tom is survived by common law partner Muriel “Molly” Dawson, by Molly’s children, Roy, Harold, Howie and Debbie and their families. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. He had a close relationship with his grandniece Jenna Eveleigh and grandnephew and best buddy James Fennel.
Besides his parents, Tom was predeceased by brothers; Joseph, Mike, Patrick, Frederick, Jack, Richard and James; sisters Mary, Gertie, Margaret and Theresa.
Visitation for Tom will be held 10 to 11 am, Saturday, July 27, 2024, in the W.J. Dooley Funeral Home, 107 Pleasant Street, North Sydney, followed by a funeral service at 11 am in the funeral home Chapel, with Rev. Doug MacDonald officiating.
