It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Willena Yvonne Moore, 83, loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend, on Sunday, March 15, 2020, at the Northside General Hospital surrounded by her loving family.

Born June 29, 1936 in North Sydney, she was the daughter of the late William and Amelia (Melbourne) Vaudin and step daughter of the late Walter Leyte.

Willena worked for many years as part of the custodial staff at Marine Atlantic in North Sydney. She was a very family-oriented person who enjoyed travelling to visit various members of her family, and she was an avid bingo and card player.

Willena is survived by her two sons, Dale (Belinda) Moore of Dartmouth and John Moore of Edmonton; by her grandchildren, Michael and Shelby Moore, Max and Amy Moore and her very dear friend, Linda Hooper. Also surviving are her three siblings, Roland (Marguerite) Leyte, Millville; Gord Leyte, Orangeville, ON and Roberta Gale, North Sydney; sisters-in-law, Violet Vaudin, Karen Leyte and brother-in-law, Edwin Chant.

Besides her parents and step father, she was predeceased by brothers, Fred Vaudin, Joe Vaudin, Don Vaudin, Jimmy Leyte, Reg Leyte, Bill Leyte and sisters, Eliza Dawe, Betty Dawe, Elsie Marsh and Thelma Chant.

The family would like to take this opportunity to thank the staff of the Northside Community Guest Home as well as the staff of 5th floor at the Northside General Hospital for the care and compassion shown to Willena.

There will be no visitation by request. A funeral service will be held at a later date. Burial will take place in Lakeside Cemetery, North Sydney.
