It is with heartfelt sorrow, that we announce the passing of our dear brother Winston Francis Hall age 73, on Thursday, May 12, 2022 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, due to underlying conditions & complications, after a battle with Covid-19. He put up quite a fight, as he always did in the past 23 years with his health.

Born in North Sydney, March 27th, 1949, Winston was the son of the late John Lawrence and Margaret Ann (MacDougall) Hall. As a young man Winston worked in Ontario doing shipping & receiving, later in construction work, along-side our father. Our brother missed his calling, as he had a great passion for music, he would have been a great DJ. All music from golden oldies rock & roll to Celtic fiddle music and knew who created it. All his friends & family enjoyed his impressions of the DJ known as Wolfman Jack or maybe he would do a little step dance to the fiddle music. His other passion was knowledge of the model of cars & trucks, just from glancing at the grill or fender from a distance.

Winston is survived by his sisters; Rose “Marie” (Gary) McGean, North Sydney, Joan (Frank) Potter, Bedford, Mary Doucette, Owen Sound, Christena Goldberg, Pemberton, BC and brothers; Don (Emily), Brampton, David, Kingston, Paul (Mary ), Coe Hill, Lionel (Patricia ),Tiny, ON, also by twenty nieces and nephews, thirty-one great and 4 great great nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, Winston was predeceased by his sister; Shirley Franks & brothers; Billy, Jackie and Lawrence Hall. Also predeceased by his brothers & sisters-in-law; Ron Doucette, Sammy Goldberg, Dave Franks, Glenna and Isabelle (Liz).

Special thanks to all the frontline workers of nurses & doctors of Cape Breton Regional Hospital, ICU, Intermitted CU, 3B and Palliative Care, God bless you all. To Celtic Court in Sydney his other family who cared for him daily, many thanks to your awesome staff.

A celebration of life service for Winston will be held at a later date, in the late summer. Winston was formally a member of Our Lady of Sorrows Church, North Sydney. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to W.J. Dooley Funeral Home, 107 Pleasant Street, North Sydney.
