Although is has only been 4 years since I've met Gordon I came to love him as a son. He even started calling me mum. I was lucky to enjoy some long talks about just about everything under the sun. In particular one night by the backyard fire pit we both sat and we shared so many memories, hopes and dreams. But mostly Gord talked of his love for his family and many friends. He played a few songs on his guitar, Halleluiah- one of my an his dad's favourites. He also loved to make up silly parodies of his dad & I and we would laugh. I'll miss his deep Cape Breton voice and that great big smile. God Bless him and keep him safe in his arms. Alden, Nancy and family know in your hearts he was truly loved and please accept my sympathies. He isn't gone, he's just waiting in a better place. Luv, maria

I was quite saddened to hear about Gord's passing, and I'll make sure that I say Gord as he once was quite sure to correct me when I called him Gordie. We grew up together and were in the Nova Scotia Highlanders together, he was always a great guy and it's too bad I haven't seen him in years. Gord, I'll be thinking of you and your family. All the best old friend.
