It is with great sorrow that we announce the sudden passing of Joseph Lloyd Fougere, age 65, of Ball’s Creek, on Thursday October 19, 2017 at the QEII Health Science Centre, Halifax Infirmary Site. Lloyd passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family.

Originally from Frankville, NS, Lloyd was born September 6, 1952, he was the son of the late Russell and Laura (Wood) Fougere. Lloyd enjoyed cooking and making preserves, family gatherings where he could sing and play music, spending time with family and the many friends he made in his 38 years working for Eastern Tire.

Lloyd leaves behind his loving wife Eva (Fiander), five children Steven (Karen) Fougere, Frankville, NS, Kim (David) MacKinnon, Seafoam, NS, Andrea Fougere (Lawrence), Stellarton, Ashley (Corey) Ranni, Hammonds Plains, Stephanie (Trevor) MacNeil, Sydney, also by his loving fur baby, “Bear”, his 13 grandchildren Carlee, Hannah, Ben, Morgan, Chelsea, Jessica, Jessie, Breanna, Russell, Sydney, Hannah, Levi and Jackson, by his brothers Cliffy (Jan) Fougere, Kingston, ON, Brian (Dawn) Fougere, Wilmot, NS ,Rodney (Wendy) Fougere, Sudbury, ON, his sister Laurella (David) O’Neil, Frankville, NS, his mother-in-law Shirley Fiander, brothers-in-law Norm (Debbie) Fiander Jr., Sheldon (Michele) Fiander and many nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, Lloyd was predeceased by his sister Christina in infancy and father-in-law Norman Fiander Sr.

Visitation for Lloyd will be held 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Monday in the W.J. Dooley Funeral Home, 107 Pleasant Street, North Sydney. A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday at St. Matthew Wesley United Church, North Sydney with Rev. Stephen Mills officiating. Burial will follow at Lakeside Cemetery, North Sydney. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the MS Society, the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia or to a charity of choice.
